About Wisconsin Plastic Surgery Research
This site is the research home of the Division of Plastic Surgery at the University of Wisconsin. It serves two audiences at once: anyone curious about the scholarship our division produces, and our own team members who depend on it as the hub for their daily research workflow.
Our Story
Our research website began with a simple need: to give the work happening inside our division a visible, organized place to live. What started as an internal resource has become a public-facing window into the questions our faculty and trainees are asking, the studies they are running, and the results they are publishing. Visitors can browse the publication gallery to see what we have produced, or spend time in the video corner to hear the thinking behind the work in the researchers' own words.
Our Mission
We are committed to advancing the science of plastic and reconstructive surgery through rigorous, thoughtful research — and to making that research accessible. That means giving the people doing the work the tools and structure they need, and sharing what we learn with the broader surgical and scientific community.
What We Do
- Conduct and share research. Our division pursues scholarly work across plastic and reconstructive surgery, and this site gathers it in one place through our publication gallery.
- Showcase the work in progress. The video corner gives researchers a format to explain their projects and findings directly, beyond the printed page.
- Support our internal research workflow. This site acts as the main hub for the division's research operations and resources — the shared infrastructure that keeps projects moving.
- Welcome collaboration and curiosity. Whether you are a colleague, a trainee, or a patient interested in the science behind plastic surgery, you are invited to explore what we are working on.
Who We Serve
Our work serves the division's faculty, residents, and research staff who rely on this site as part of their daily workflow; the wider academic and surgical community who follow our publications; and anyone who wants to understand the research underpinning modern plastic and reconstructive surgery. We are proud to be part of the University of Wisconsin's tradition of inquiry, and we invite you to visit the publication gallery or video corner to learn more.
Curious where to start? The publication gallery collects the division's scholarly output in one place, while the video corner lets researchers walk through their projects and findings in their own words. Together they offer a clear view of the questions our faculty and trainees are exploring across plastic and reconstructive surgery.
